Getting started
AI bot
The AI bot answers new conversations first and connects an agent when needed. Cliptalk manages the model and keys, so you do not bring your own.
#Knowledge and operator instructions
Extra knowledge is what the AI may answer from: FAQs, shipping and refund policy, price lists, temporary notices. Length is fine (up to 60,000 characters).
Operator instructions set tone and rules: “polite, within 3 lines”, “do not promise a refund amount”, “do not mention competitors”. Use Examples next to each field to insert a sample.
The AI is designed not to guess beyond its knowledge. It says it needs to check, or offers an agent. If the same unanswered question keeps coming up, add it to knowledge.

[Exchanges and returns]

[Notice]
- No shipments Oct 3–9 (holiday). Orders resume in sequence from Oct 10#Hand off to an agent
- If the customer uses an instant handoff keyword such as “talk to an agent”, they skip the AI and go straight to the queue.
- If the AI cannot resolve it, it asks “Would you like an agent to help?” (Yes/No). On yes, it hands over a summary of the chat.
- When an agent joins or replies, the AI stops immediately.
- While the conversation is waiting and no agent has joined yet, the AI can keep answering, marked as replying on the agent’s behalf.
#Auto link rules
Turn order numbers and similar text in the chat into links automatically. One rule per line, regex => URL | label. $1 in the URL is the first capture group.
